The first day of Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year, was also New Year's Day 2000 in the Ethiopian calendar and the beginning of the Cartagena Punic festival in Spain. That was the 12th of September. I've just realized that the 13th of September -- which was still the first day of Rosh HaShanah, because in the reckoning of the Jewish calendar the day begins at sundown -- was the first day of Ramandan.
